Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone had a very good Christmas and was able to spend a lot of time with your families. As we look ahead to 2011, I wanted to let you all know about some important dates to mark on your calendars.....

More information will follow. Also your tax statements for 2010 will be sent home next week and one last reminder that we will be closed on Friday, December 31st in honor of New Year's!!

Christmas Program

Hi Everyone-
Sorry about the lack of posting. I just got back from my maternity leave. I just want to remind everyone about our Christmas Program that is this Thursday, December 9th, at 7:00pm. The children have been working very hard and are excited to show you what they have learned. This year our program is entitled Show and Tell Christmas. We do ask that you have your child here and in their classrooms no later than 6:45pm. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks and we hope to see you all there!! :-)

Harvest Party

Our annual Harvest Party will be held on Wednesday, October 27th, from 6:30pm-8:00pm. If you are interested in donating some candy for this event please bring it in and put it in the bin located outside the office. This is always a fun time. We hope to see you all there.!!!

Dad's and Doughnuts

We will be having our Dad's and Doughnuts Day on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 from 6:30am-9:00am. We hope all the Dads will come and help us celebrate the letter D!!!

Fall Fundraiser

Just a reminder that our fund raiser ends on Monday. Please have everything turned in by then. We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase a new swing set for our playground. Thanks!

Trike-A-Thon

Last Friday we held our annual Trike-A-Thon to help raise money for the sick children at St. Jude's Hospital. The kids had a lot of fun and did a great job. If you are interested in the number of laps each child did, it is posted outside the office above the bench. Just a reminder that we need to have all of the money collected and turned in by next Friday. Great Job boys and Girls!!!

Hawaiian Room Field Trip

Our Hawaiian Room has been learning about helping others. Therefore they will be having their field trip to a senior citizen apartment community this Wednesday, September 22nd. It is a great way to teach them about community service. Please make sure to have your permission slips turned in by Wednesday. Let Miss Liz or Miss Jennifer know if you have any more questions.

Family Movie Night!!

Just a reminder that Friday, Septemebr 24th, is our Family Movie Night. We will be showing a double feature starting with The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and followed by Toy Story. Concessions will open at 6:00pm followed by the movie at 6:30pm. Bring your lawn charis, blankets, pillows, etc. and come out for a fun night with the family. We hope to see you there!!

Open House!!

Just a quick reminder to all parents about our Open House. It will be held this Tuesday, September 21st from 7pm-8pm. It is a great opportunity to have your child show you their classrooms and to meet all of the staff here at Wee Care. What better way to get them excited about their school!! We hope to see you all here.

New Year New Look!!!

Welcome to our new school year!!!!
We are off to a great start. We are thrilled to have so many new faces here at Wee Care, but we are excited to see all of our old familiar faces as well. All of our new classrooms have been freshly painted and updated and it has been so much fun to see how excited the kids have been to see their new rooms. We now have the Stars Room, The Jungle Room, The Barn Room, The Train Room, The Ocean Room, The Hawaiian Room, and of course The After School Lounge. Thanks to all of you who have been patient and helped make our transition a success!!! We are so excited to see what this year holds!!

Crisis Care Kits

As of August 1st you have returned 12 CrisisCare Kits. We are well on our way to the goal of breaking 42. Our next campaign will be in December. Think ahead and purchase an item every other week and you will be ready for December. Kalamazoo Nazarene Church so appreciates you joining with us to touch ourworld.

Just a reminder for all parents so that you can plan accordingly, the center will be closed on Thursday September 2nd and Friday, September 3rd, for our annual cleaning days. We will

Family Movie Night

Just a reminder that this Friday, June 18th, is family movie night. We will be showing Ice Age, Dawn of the Dinosaurs. The movie starts at 6:30pm with concessions opening at 6:00pm. The movie itself is free of charge. It is a great way to spend an inexpensive evening with your family. So bring your sleeping bags, lawn chairs, blankets, and pillows and we hope to see you all there!!!! It will be loads of fun!!!!! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Summer Fun!!

The summer is off to a great start here at Wee Care. I just wanted to remind everyone that if your child is in the Toddler 3 room or the SCAMP rooms, Monday is ice cream day. The ice cream truck will be visiting Wee Care. If you wish for your child to participate please bring $1-2.00 for them. Also here is a reminder of the SCAMP and SCAMP Jr's schedule for next week:

SPRING PROGRAM

Just a reminder that our Spring Program/Graduation is scheduled for this Thursday evening at 7:00pm. We ask that your child be here and in their classroom no later that 6:45pm. The children have been working hard on their songs to sing for you, so we hope to see you all here as we celebrate another wonderful year at the Wee Care Center!!

Mother's Day Tea

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up so that you could mark your calendars. We will be having our Mother's Day Tea on Friday, May 7th at 2:30pm. More details will follow. We hope to see you all there!!

Picture Day!!

Just a reminder that picture day will be this Thursday, April 22nd. The picture forms went home this past week. If you didn't get one please stop by the office and see me. Anyone who does not usually attend the center on Thursdays is still more than welcome to stop by to get their picture taken. The photographer will be here all morning until around noon. Also, anyone who will be entering kindergarten or young fives in the fall will also have a picture taken of them in their graduation cap and gown. Pictures will be back to us in a few weeks but you are never obligated to make a purchase. If you don't wish to buy any of them simply return the whole packet to the office. If you have any other questions please let me know. Thanks!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

The leprechaun came to Wee Care today for a load of fun. The children were able to follow his footprints to find his hidden pot of gold. They could not believe how naughty that leprechaun was. He messed up our rooms, threw our coats and bags on the floor, and even turned our pineapple and mashed potatoes green. It was a fun day!!!! Ask your child to tell you all about it!!!

Family Movie Night

Just a reminder that this Friday, March 19th at 6:30pm is our family movie night. We will be showing the Princess and the Frog. Feel free to bring your sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows. This is a free event, but there will be some concessions available for you to purchase if you would like. Also we will be having a pizza dinner before hand at 6:00pm. We do ask that if you are planning on joining us for dinner that you pre-order so we know how much pizza to get. Order sheets were put on your child's hook, but if you need another one or more information, just let me know. We hope to see you all there!!

Upcoming Events

Hi Everyone-
I just wanted to give you a heads up that we will be having another Family Movie Night on Friday, March 19th. I will have more details to follow, but I wanted everyone to be able to get that date on your calendars. The last one we had was a huge success and we hope to see even more of you this time for even more fun. Also just a reminder that conferences are scheduled for March 23rd. This is a great time to touch base with your child's teacher and to see how your child is doing both academically and socially. All of the teachers will be available from the Infant Room up to the Hawaiian Room. We will probably have a sign up sheet available the first week of March. Finally, our annual Leprechaun Hunt will will be on March 17th. We always have a fun time searching for that leprechaun. We have never been successful at finding him, but we always do manage to find his gold. The kids that were here last year are already talking about it. It should be a lot of fun!!! Pajama Day

Just a reminder that in honor of "P" week, Wednesday, February 17th, is pajama day. Everyone may wear their pajamas to school. It should be a fun and comfortable day!!

CiCi's Pizza Fundraiser

I just wanted to remind everyone about our fundraiser on Tuesday, February 9th, from 11am-8pm. All you have to do is eat some pizza and you are earning money for the Wee Care Center. All the money that is raised is going into our playground improvement fund which is slated to start this spring. Just please make sure to put your receipt into the jar by the cash register or your sale will not go toward our profit. Let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise we hope to see you all there.
